About us

Learning Spanish was an ambition for as long as I can remember. My mother spoke it fluently, having lived in Spain and Argentina in her youth, and I was intrigued and inspired whenever I heard her use it. Spanish wasn’t an option at school, but I picked up as much as I could while travelling through Latin America later on.

Realising that although I could get by, I needed much more structure and dedication if I was going to learn properly, I started taking lessons. This, from the beginning, gave me the grammatical platform I had been missing, as well as the guidance and discipline to practise. It was immediately rewarding, and became more so as momentum gathered.

Learning a language is not something you ‘complete’, of course. You learn and refine continually - a continually energising process. For many, the joy of learning is motivation enough. But the real benefit comes from using it. It presents multiple opportunities, including new friendships and experiences; the ability to engage with hispanic cultures; or career opportunities.

I founded Learn Spanish for two reasons. Firstly, to share a passion, of course. But more practically, to use the solutions I’d discovered to help other students.

I was taught, or developed, or stumbled upon techniques and approaches that produced breakthroughs or accelerated progress across every element of the language. I experimented with everything from AI tools, lesson analysis, performance tracking and psychological techniques to develop solutions. Since these solutions were developed in response to genuine and specific challenges, they are practical and proven.
