Our GCSE tutoring service works online, via video call, which enables us to use the best teachers and allows us to organise and share the relevant materials simply and efficiently.
The first step is to contact us. Following this, we offer a free consultation. The purpose of this is to introduce student and tutor, and to develop a plan of action based on the individual and their objective. Assuming the student is happy with the plan and their tutor, lessons begin.
Exam Board-specific tutoring
The Spanish GCSE tutors at Learn Spanish work closely to the requirements of the exam. Depending on the Exam Board (such as AQA, Pearson Edexcel, Eduqas or OCR), we tailor tuition according to themes, vocabulary, grammar requirements and assessment criteria.
We address each of the exam disciplines, reading and listening comprehension, and written and oral expression - including, of course, the particular ways in which these are assessed in the Spanish GCSE.
In addition to the Spanish language itself, we coach exam techniques, including time management, and preparation according to task. This instills confidence and composure at the point of taking the exam.

With this information, the tutor assesses the student's levels, with reference to the exam requirements, across:
Reading comprehension

Listening comprehension
Oral expression
In addition, the tutor will assess the student's ability to reproduce these levels in the exam itself.
Tailored lesson plans, comprehensive progress reports
With the diagnosis established, our tutors will create a plan, given the student's objectives and available time. Once agreed between student, teacher and parent (as appropriate), the plan starts.
Our approach is to complement the student's school lessons by working in parallel, addressing areas of focus along the way. This helps the student to immediately improve their confidence and performance at school while reinforcing their Spanish as they work through the plan.
As lessons progress, we give full and detailed feedback to student and parent as appropriate. This provides evidence of progress - a great source of motivation, and the opportunity to adjust the plan where beneficial.
To maintain exam-relevance and to generate familiarity and confidence, we use authentic exam materials board guidelines, learning materials and past papers.
