Twickenham Children's Spanish Lessons

Fun, practical Spanish taught through games, role-play and conversation

Children learn languages best when they enjoy using them. Designed for beginners aged 8-10, our lessons focus on building confidence through games, stories and conversation, creating a strong foundation for future learning.

Class sizes are kept small so that every child has plenty of opportunity to participate and enjoy using Spanish!

What do children learn?

Children learn practical Spanish they can use in real life. They learn to introduce themselves and have simple conversations. They'll learn how to describe themselves and the world around them and express preferences. They build confidence in situations they are likely to encounter on holiday or when meeting Spanish speakers. The aim is to give them practical knowledge and a solid foundation in Spanish from day one.

Most importantly, they will enjoy learning Spanish and feel excited about using it!

They absorb grammar naturally through using the language in meaningful situations, rather than memorising rules in isolation.

Along the way, children discover music, stories, traditions and learn about everyday life from across the Spanish-speaking world, broadening their horizons and inspiring them to learn more.

From their very first lesson, children begin using real Spanish in a supportive and encouraging environment, at the same time establishing the basics that they will need to learn at school later on.

Our teacher, Karina

Karina grew up in Spain and moved to England in 2020. She is fluent in both Spanish and English. She teaches Spanish to both adults and children and has experience working as a teaching assistant in a school, as well as with children in an after-school club setting. She makes learning engaging through games, role-play and interactive activities, while helping children feel comfortable and confident using Spanish. In parallel with teaching, she is currently at university, studying Law.

What are lessons like?

The classes are based on Campus Difusión’s Lola and Leo curriculum. They are highly interactive, designed around role-play, games, video, and stories.

We practise listening skills to help children understand spoken Spanish and feel confident joining conversations.

We use reading and writing activities to reinforce learning and to help children understand how the language works.

Children learn languages best when they are actively using them. Our lessons focus on exactly this, creating a fun environment where Spanish feels natural rather than academic.
